Welcome to the Disco Hall of Fame, the world’s online museum devoted to preserving the legacy of Disco and celebrating its enduring values of inclusion, unity, and joy. For nearly five decades, Disco has been more than music — it has been a movement that brought people together across cultures, backgrounds, and dance floors.
From the electrifying rise of Saturday Night Fever in 1977 to the legendary nights at Studio 54, Paradise Garage, and the many underground clubs that shaped the LGBTQ+ dance scene, Disco evolved from a grassroots movement into a global phenomenon. Though the mainstream may have shifted, the heartbeat of Disco still pulses strong — for those who lived it, and for those discovering its magic for the first time.
This website is our tribute: a digital time capsule built brick by brick to honor the stars, the stories, and the spirit of Disco. And if the rhythm keeps building, perhaps one day we’ll open the doors to a physical home in New York — a place where the legacy can shine even brighter.
While we continue expanding this virtual hall, explore the treasures already here: browse the tabs above, enjoy the videos below, and take a journey back to the era when Disco was in its prime. We look forward to sharing this message with a new generation of fans — one beat, one story, one celebration at a time.

This month I’m spotlighting The Disco Ball, the 2003 ABC concert special that brought together an all-star lineup to celebrate the era that shaped so many of our nights on the dance floor. Originally filmed in October 2002 and aired in early 2003, the show featured a mix of legendary disco artists and contemporary performers paying tribute to the music that defined a generation. Icons like The Trammps, KC & The Sunshine Band, Thelma Houston, Irene Cara, Chic, Gloria Gaynor, The Pointer Sisters, and more delivered live performances of the classics that filled clubs across the country.
It’s a rare piece of disco history—glitzy, nostalgic, and packed with the songs that kept the dance floor moving. With so few full disco concerts available online, this special is a great way to revisit the energy, the artists, and the spirit of the era until more concert footage becomes available. Enjoy and keep on dancing!

Revisiting a Bronx favorite this month with Celi Bee & The Buzzy Bunch (1977), an album I grew up dancing to at house parties before most people even knew the group — and yes, some of these tracks eventually made it into the clubs. This record leaned into a buzzing, electronic groove that felt futuristic, years ahead of the early-80s club sound. Superman, Closer, Closer, One Love, and Hurt Me, Hurt Me always lit up the room. A fun, energetic album that truly was ahead of its time.

They say Disco’s dead—but the headlines keep grooving. From glittery birthday bashes to retro-themed celeb parties, Disco’s spirit is alive and sequined. Case in point: Taylor Swift celebrates BFF Selena Gomez’s 33rd birthday at star-studded ‘70s disco-themed bash. Balloons, platform boots, Studio 54 vibes—it’s all still spinning. These aren’t just random blurbs—they’re real stories pulled straight from Google. Scroll up for the latest news from 2025-26, or click the star to the stars for a trip into the vault: a treasure trove of Disco headlines from the golden years. Since launching the Disco Hall of Fame in 2018, I’ve been tracking the pulse of Disco News—just for the heck of it. Hope you enjoy the ride through rhythm, nostalgia, and a whole lot of sparkle.

I thought I’d do something different this month with a modern spin on a 70s groove. CHIC feat. Nile Rodgers – “I’ll Be There” (UK Version) was built from rediscovered late-70s CHIC session tapes & finished in 2015 as a tribute to Bernard Edwards. Featuring original CHIC performances & new production with The Martinez Brothers, it blends classic disco DNA with a fresh polish. The video, starring model Karlie Kloss & featuring dancer Stephen Galloway, celebrates the joy of getting ready to go out & stepping into the nightlife.

Barry White’s 1974 classic “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe” helped push disco into a smoother, modern sound and packed dance floors everywhere — freestyle or Hustle, it didn’t matter. With over 22 million YouTube views, fans still keep this gem spinning. I remember dancing to it in ’74 before leaving for the U.S. Marines, and when I came back in ’77 during disco’s prime, it was still rocking every club. Oh yeah!
This month’s album (CD) pick is the soundtrack from The Last Days of Disco — a 90s film that celebrated the late-70s club scene. The CD is packed with classics like “I Love the Nightlife,” “I’m Coming Out,” “Got to Be Real,” “Good Times,” “He’s the Greatest Dancer,” “More, More, More,” and “The Love I Lost.” With Chloë Sevigny and Kate Beckinsale on the cover capturing that true disco vibe, this collection brings the dance floor right back to life. A perfect February groove.
Last fall, I donated my 2010 book Disco Nights to the Disco Hall of Fame and released Chapter 1 on the Disco Hall of Fame Blog to celebrate the book’s 15th anniversary. Inspired by a true story and told through my surrogate, the chapter was updated using modern tools — AI visuals, YouTube clips, and historical content — turning it into a fun, interactive experiment: part story, part nostalgia, part Disco time capsule. I’m grateful to everyone who spent time with it.
For now, the project is taking a short break while I focus on other parts of the Disco Hall of Fame. I may revisit Chapter 2 in the spring… or sooner if there’s renewed interest. If you missed Chapter 1 and want to explore it — or show it a little love by tapping the like button — you’ll find it under the Disco Café Blog Post tab below.
