NYC's best Pride events for 2025, from the marches to concerts 6/12/25
ABOUT:
Welcome to the Disco Hall of Fame, the world’s online museum devoted to preserving the legacy of Disco and celebrating its enduring values of inclusion, unity, and joy. For nearly five decades, Disco has been more than music-it’s been a movement that brought people together across cultures, backgrounds, and dance floors.
From the electrifying rise of Saturday Night Fever in 1977 to the legendary nights at Studio 54 and Paradise Garage, Disco transformed from underground rhythm to a global phenomenon. Though the mainstream may have moved on, the heartbeat of Disco still pulses strong-for those who lived it, and for those discovering its magic anew.
This website is our tribute: a digital time capsule built brick by brick to honor the stars, the stories, and the spirit of Disco. And if the rhythm keeps building, maybe one day we’ll open the doors to a physical home in New York-where the legacy can shine even brighter. While we continue expanding this virtual hall, dive into the treasures already here: explore the tabs above, watch the videos below, and take a journey back in time to when Disco was in its prime. We look forward to bringing this message to a new generation of fans-one beat, one story, one celebration at a time.

Good Times

CHIC
Album/CD for August 2025
This timeless 1978 classic kicks off with a message we all needed back then: “Good times, these are the good times. Leave your cares behind.” I still remember hitting the clubs with friends, dancing our stress away to this record. It was more than a song—it was our escape, our new state of mind. Happy days really were here again!

Van McCoy’s iconic groove sets the stage, but it’s Pan’s People who steal the show. These dazzling ladies deliver a routine that’s pure disco elegance—fluid, fierce, and fabulously in sync. Their moves don’t just match the beat, they elevate it, turning a classic track into a visual time capsule of ‘70s magic. Cue the lights, feel the rhythm, and let the hustle take hold.
More than a movie, Thank God It’s Friday is a disco manifesto. The soundtrack brings together legends like Donna Summer, Diana Ross, and The Commodores, each track a glittering gem from the golden age of dance. From the Oscar-winning “Last Dance” to the floor-filling “Too Hot Ta Trot,” this album captures the pulse of a night out in 1978—where the music didn’t just play, it lived. Great artists, iconic songs, and a vibe that still makes you want to dress up and dance.

Packed with dance-floor gems like “Superman,” “One Love,” “Hurt Me Hurt Me,” and “Closer Closer,” this upbeat 1977 album kept us moving all night long. I still remember practicing my Hustle steps in my apartment to “One Love,” so when I made a move on the dance floor, the timing would be perfect—after I got the look, I’d slide in between two ladies and dance with them both. Ahh, good memories. Not as widely known as Donna or Gloria, but this album was pure disco release—fun, freeing, and the perfect antidote to a hard day’s work.

DISCO CAFE OF LOVE Post-
Disco Nights
Chapter 1
This year marks the 15th anniversary of my book-Disco Nights (2010-2025), a novel inspired by a true story. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve donated the book to the Disco Hall of Fame-not just as a tribute, but as a way to help bring the Disco Hall of Fame to life, from the streets of New York City and the inside of the dance floor looking out.
Beyond the disco and 1970s stories, this book explores different kinds of love-each unique, each real-and one final love story at the end serves as a grand finale. That’s why I’ve chosen to share it here, on the Disco Café of Love Blog.
When I first wrote Disco Nights, the vision was clear: to create an interactive story about the Disco Years. But back then, the technology just wasn’t there. After a first printing, the dream of putting this interactive book online stalled. Fast forward 15 years-and Houston, we have lift-off! The tools are finally here to tell this story the way it was meant to be told.
This will never be a movie-but it was always meant to feel like one. A readable, immersive experience, built with YouTube videos, AI-generated visuals, and real-life memories from the era that defined a generation.
NOTE: All embedded YouTube videos are included under YouTube’s sharing guidelines, and AI-generated images are used to visually enhance the storytelling experience. If you enjoy the music featured in this story, please consider purchasing the tracks from your favorite retailer to support the original artists. This project is crafted with care, and I deeply respect the creators and platforms that help bring it to life.
Each chapter is designed to be a 20-25 minute read, giving you time to settle in, absorb the story, and feel the rhythm of the moment. This isn’t just a short blog post-it’s a journey through music, memory, and the heartbeat of a culture that still echoes today.
Whether you lived it, heard about it, or are just discovering it now-this is your invitation to step inside. This isn’t just a launch-it’s the beginning of a legacy that’s waited 15 years to be told the right way.
This first chapter was no easy task to put together. It’s been a labor of love, shaped over time and driven by passion. Whether this journey continues depends on how it’s received—so if you like what I’m trying to do, please tap the “like” button on the blog or send me a short email using the Contact button in the top right corner of this page. Your feedback and support mean everything.
