Stephen A Welles is a U.S. Marine veteran and semi-retired project manager for the likes of IBM, Pepsi and Readers Digest. He is now fulfilling a lifelong passion as the founder and project manager of the Disco Hall of Fame.
Steve has always been a native New Yorker, born in the city, raised in the Bronx, and around New York night clubs. His mom was a singer during the 1950s-60s night club era with live entertainment and dancing. Steve learned about show business from his mom and dad who also worked in the night club industry. In the 1970s-80s Steve was a disco-dancing competitor and a dancing-trumpeter in urban bands, while he worked as a head bartender for dance clubs and well-known restaurants throughout New York City.
Stephen now a respected Disco Historian and Author penned a second book called Disco Nights (2010) which also received nice reviews. He used his surrogate to tell this coming of age 70s tale which is inspired by a true story.
